Bad Pharma
Tomorrow I travel to London to be interviewed on the ADHD Chatter podcast again.
We'll be uncovering the truth about Big Pharma and ADHD medication. Not the naive, mimetic, stories peddled by most ADHD influencers that sound so positive about the drugs we might be excused for accusing them of being on the take.
Here's some proven truths about Big (Bad) Pharma:
*They spend double on marketing what they do on research *Research that benefits their profits are 2x to 4x more likely to appear in academic papers *The rest gets buried (disappearing into oblivion) *Meaning that even if doctors had time to read all the research (they don't) what they'd read would be only half the story *The global pharmaceutical industry made $1.48 Trillion in 2022 *Between 1992-2007 the pharmaceutical companies, in the US alone, were fined $38.6B over 412 fraud cases. *The biggest included GlaxoSmithKline (2.3B fines), and Johnson & Johnson ($2.2B) fines. *Those top three cases were due to bribing pharmacists and doctors, lying in the marketing, and hiding data.
I could go on.
But I'll leave those to percolate in your mind.
